Standards at Parkway

Mobile phones restrictions will now be put in force around these with immediate effect.

Parents & Carers,

Further to a letter dated 22nd November regarding standards at the Parkway Centre – available here. I am writing again to inform you that as a result of continued inappropriate use from the majority of pupils around the use of mobile phones further restrictions will now be put in force around these with immediate effect.

Pupils will be expected to hand in their mobile phone each day upon arrival in school to either their form tutor or a pastoral manager. If pupils refuse to hand their phone in and they are seen to be using it in school it will be confiscated and returned at the end of the day. Any pupil unwilling to comply and you may be asked to support us in putting measures in place to support your child’s positive engagement in managing their own mobile device.

If your child uses their mobile to listen to music as part of their support strategy this arrangement will still be honoured however any inappropriate use e.g. making calls, sending texts, accessing social media etc and this arrangement will be reviewed.

Thank you for your support in these matters.
