Birmingham Children’s Hospital – Roald Dahl windows

Mrs Felicity Dahl and Sir Quentin Blake are working on a project in conjunction with Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Mrs Felicity Dahl and Sir Quentin Blake are working on a project in conjunction with Birmingham Children’s Hospital to install stained glass windows into the entrance of Waterfall House, home of the Cancer Centre and Rare Diseases.

The designs were launched for the first time at Birmingham’s Central Library with a celebration evening, hosted by Joanna Lumley (closely connected with the Dahl family).

Pupils from James Brindley Academy have been busy with this project generating the original ideas to assist with Sir Blake’s illustrations and creating artwork to be displayed at the launch event.

A big impression was made by a giant BFG head created by pupils from the Oncology Ward, along with large paintings of ‘The Twits’ and other famous characters.

Fundraising at BCH are hoping that people will want to put their hands in their pockets to help this worthy cause.
